Dental Insurance Coverage:
For most insurance plans, we offer direct billing. This means we can submit your insurance claim electronically, resulting in faster reimbursement, without the need for paper forms and signatures.
It is your responsibility to pay any co-pays or amounts not covered by your insurance. If your plan(s) do not cover the entire treatment cost, you will be expected to pay the outstanding portion at the end of your appointment.
Northland Dental Centre abides by the current dee schedule as established by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario in collaboration with the dental health benefit providers in Canada. Please note that insurance companies are not obligated to abide by the current fee schedule. There are some who may choose to independently offer their clients benefits based on an earlier year’s fee schedule. In such cases, the patient is expected to pay the difference, even if their plan indicates they receive 100% coverage.
Northland Dental Centre’s Treatment and Hygiene Coordinators have a keen general knowledge of the plans. They are happy to assist our patients in understanding them, and to help you receive the proper dental care available to you through the plan. That is why we ask you to bring details, and most importantly, regularly update our staff about changes to your benefit plan. However, it remains the patient’s plan, and as its owner, you are ultimately responsible for its accurate interpretation. Our administrative team can assist you in understanding your insurance plan better and can also send estimates to your insurance company before starting any major treatments.
Cancelling Appointments:
When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please call Northland Dental Centre as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.
If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 48 business hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
Late Cancellations/No-Shows:
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 48 business hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, there will be a $50 missed appointment fee.
